One day, six to seven hours, covering Niagara Falls from the American side and the Canadian side. You sail to the foot of the falls on the Maid of the Mist, walk the decks at the Cave of the Winds, and ride up the Skylon Tower for the view across both countries. Hotel pickup and drop-off in the Niagara Falls area is included, along with admission fees and the road and bridge tolls. A guide travels with the group and handles the border crossing and the running order, so the only thing you decide is where to stand for the photo.
What the day actually looks like
The tour covers the American and Canadian sides in one run, with the Maid of the Mist boat ride in the middle of it.
The Maid of the Mist carries you into the basin below the falls, close enough that the poncho is not decorative. At the Cave of the Winds, wooden walkways take you to within a few metres of the Bridal Veil Falls. Both sit inside Niagara Falls State Park, the oldest state park in the United States. Once the American side is done we cross into Canada and ride to the top of the 520-foot Skylon Tower, which looks down on both countries at once. From there the route follows the Niagara River gorge, stopping for the Canadian-side views while the guide fills in how the falls formed and how they have been fought over since.
It works whether this is your first visit to Niagara Falls or your fifteenth.
Bring a camera. A phone is fine, but the spray gets everywhere, so bring something you can wipe dry. The guides are happy to be in the shot, and you will want pictures to send home.
Wear clothes you do not mind getting damp and shoes you can walk in for a few hours.
Call to cancel at least 48 hours before your tour time and there is no penalty.
Ask an agent what the price covers and which dates are open.
